| BIO Brian Douthit is an author, editor, reviewer, and digital artist. He has written book reviews for ForeWord Magazine and writes music and book reviews independently. His reviews for ForeWord Magazine included such notable authors as Imelda Roberts, a recipient of the Ellis Island Medal Of Honor in 2006, and Ira Joe Fisher, from the CBS Saturday morning show. His reviews on Amazon.com have received overwhelming approval from readers earning him, "most helpful review" status for books such as Coleman Barks', Rumi: Poems of Ecstasy and Longing, and Kahlil Gibran's, The Treasured Writings Of Kahlil Gibran. In 2004, Brian's first book, Perfectly Said: when words become art, was published. Perfectly Said has been on the bestseller list on Amazon.com in The United States, Canada, and Japan. In 2006, he co-edited the book, Eyes Of The Poet: Love and Passion in Lasting Splendor. Eyes Of The Poet is an anthology of love poems comprising over 50 poets from nine countries. The Eyes Of The Poet book project developed into Eyes Of The Poet Radio, an Internet-based radio station. The station broadcasted a wide variety of poets intermixed with New Age and World music. His contacts with both musicians and poets led him to produce audio pieces for The Public Radio Exchange (PRX), a nonprofit service for distribution, peer review, and licensing of radio pieces for public radio. Although he no longer broadcasts on his radio station, Brian occasionally writes reviews for audio pieces for PRX. In 2007 Brian designed the cover and wrote the Introduction to Empty As Nirvana, a book of poetry from Zayra Yves of Magdalena Press. Currently, Brian is creating video reviews for books in an innovative format he calls "Haiku Video Reviews" - an entire book review narrowed down to the seventeen syllables of a Haiku. He is also working on his own CD album of New Age music and is planning on releasing a new book in 2008. |
